The Items in your Survival Kit will vary, Depending on your Situation, Location, Time Span you will depend on it, Tempretures/Time of year and your Skills.

Packing it

Water
You need clean drinking water to survive. Here are a few ways to get clean water.
- Stored - Gallon jugs or bottled
- Carried/found - Canteen
- Purified - Pump filter

Food
- Stored and carried foods such as:
- Soup Packets
- Coffee Packets
- Food bars
- Vitamin pills
- Salt & pepper

Environmental Protection:
Weather and tempreture will take a toll on the time you will be able to survive in any situation. You need to keep dry and warm or in some situations wet and cool! such items as listed below will protect you from exposure.

Signaling:
In a survival situation you are, most likely looking for help. you should have some form of comunication in your kit.
- Whistle
- CB, aviation radio, or ELT
- Signal strobe
- Flare gun and extra flares

Navigation:
You should at the least have a compass to keep you in the right direction.

Fire Making:
A very important skill for cooking and warmth. Also protection from animals at night.

Light:
there are many ways to get light these days and you should carry what works for you, such as:
- Large flashlight w/ spare bulb
- Spare flashlight batteries
- Solar battery charger and nicads
- Crank or shake light
- Gas light / lantern
- Candles and/or candle lantern
Health and First Aid:
The majority of survival situations will have a need for medical help. Having a well stocked first aid kit is very important. Besides the comfort issues, taking care of hygiene will keep you from becoming ill in the wrong place.
- A good first aid kit
- Triangle bandage (used for sling, head wrap, tuniquet, etc...)
- Splint kit
- Toilet paper and paper towels
- Personal medical supplies (for any special medical needs you or your group may have)
- Personal hygiene items: birth control, etc.

There are many tools that can help in many survival situations. The big restriction is space and weight. You should look at multi-tools or standard tools that can perform more than one task.
